Vanilla Extract : alcohol free

Conventional vanilla extracts are made from the dried vines and beans of vanilla, using alcohol (ethanol) into which the beans are soaked.

In this post, however, we look beyond the conventional extract, and focus on the alcohol free extract.

Vanilla extract  presents one of the best culinary treasures. Vanillin, which is the essential extract, is present at concentrations reported as high as 165 mg per 100ml in the highest quality beans. Along with vanillin are as many as 400 other natural flavonoids present in natural beans.

The quality of bean is based on many factors. On farm, the preparation of fields and pollination of the pods is a key success factor. Post harvest, the process of curing and fermenting the beans enhances the setting of vanillin.

Good culinary dishes and other products that benefit from good quality vanilla extract include vanilla ice cream, cakes, cookies, and custards. Shortbread biscuits as well as chocolate flavored biscuits are as well enhanced by pure vanilla extract.

In beverages, Vanilla extract adds flavor to coffee tea and other drinks. You’ll find the same pure extract in high end perfume and Scents, as well as in medicinal products.

Vanilla extract made without alcohol has been made possible through the use of supercritical fluid extraction process, where food grade carbondioxide replaces alcohol as solvent. Being a gas, carbondioxide will disperse into atmosphere, leaving a pure extract with no adulterant. The product presents very high content of vanillin.

Our product is halal, or lawful/permitted, for the use in dishes where alcohol is expressed not permitted.
