Our cocoa powder is a co-product from the nibs of roast cocoa beans. It is the deep brown powder of the de-fatted cocoa beans. From our supercritical CO2 and cold-press processes, the resultant powder is a clean and pure foodgrade extract comprised 100% of theobroma cacao fibre and 10 – 15% cocoa butter.

This powder is an essential ingredient for baked goods and confectioneries particularly brownies, cookies, chocolate cakes, as well as beverages and drinks including teas, lattes and hot chocolates. It posseses the same unmistakable natural aroma of chocolate. The powder yields a very sweet and chocolatey fudge, another ideal food grade topping.

Benefits of Cocoa Powder and How to Use

The health and nutritional benefits of using cocoa powder are well documented on several open sources. These benefits are attributed to the flavanols contained in the pure cocoa butter, which possess great antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

Cocoa powder may be beneficial for lowering blood pressure, improving blood flow to your brain and heart, and helping prevent blood clots. The antioxidants may affect how your body responds to insulin, which could lower your chances of diabetes.

Our Cocoa powder is not alkalised /alkalinised (or treated with alkali), therefore it retains all its beneficial flavanoids. However, this also means it presents with its characteristic quality, a deep brown color and chocolatey aroma. To use, it is recommended to blend with any or all or a combination of other condiments such as sugar, vanilla, milk, in your recipes.
