Oregano oil is a clear mobile liquid, clear to pale yellow in color and with a spicy -sweet and peppery aroma. The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the oregano leaves.

The product is made through alcohol-free processes, ensuring vital chemical constituents are retained, and its biological activities are preserved.

Identification:

The major components are carvacrol, thymol, terpinene and others.

Indications (benefits from use of product)

High grade oil of Origanum vulgare, oregano is a common herb used to flavor food.

The pure essential oil has high content of carvacrol and thymol (at least 80% content) and other chemical constituents.

Suitable for use singly or as ingredient for Food flavoring and condiments, Aromatherapy, Skin Care, Healing and Remedial,  and several other uses.

Food flavorant: Simply add a few (2-3) drops of pure oregano essential oil  into your salad dressings and cooking. It is an edible and will add great flavor to your dishes. You will also obtain all the other benefits that way.

Food preservation: Processed foods and meats tend to spoil when left for extended periods before being consumed, because of the growth of microbes, as well as oxidation of lipids (fats) in the foods. Oregano EO is a great inhibitor of microbial growths, and keeps foods such as cheeses, meats, fish and fruit; it is an alternative to the synthetic food preservatives.. It has been known to reduce the presence of salmonella in pork. A 1% concentration of oregano eo added as an oil-in-water nanoemulsion has been found effective for detering microbial growth for extended periods.

Aromatherapy and massage: Oregano oil can be used in aromatherapy by adding a few drops to a diffuser or inhaler. This method is commonly used for respiratory conditions or to promote relaxation. In massage and spa therapy, the oil helps to relieve muscle aches, joint pains, and rashes.

Other Uses

Gastro intestinal benefit: Oregano oil may help treat chronic bacterial issues, such as small intestine bacterial overgrowth. People with this condition experience gastrointestinal problems due to an overgrowth of certain bacteria in their intestines.

Cosmetic use: Oregano EO helps to minimise the effects of skin aging,  by improving skin complexion, and soothing discomfort associated with arthritis or skin injuries.

Side effects and management in event of misuse/ingestion:

Drinking concentrated Oregano oil can give rise to a range of health risks. In event of accidental overuse, decongest yourself by either taking a lot more water to dilute the concentration, as you seek professional medical support.
